I will keep you and the people of Louisiana in my prayers. I think your priorities are in order and you have a good plan and your important papers are in a box. If you do evacuate and your computer is too heavy do you have a flash drive? You could back up your pictures and take that with you. If anyone takes medications make sure you have enough when you evacuate. If you have young children remember a toy or 2 for them. If you have pets remember their toys, medications, grooming supplies, blankets, etc. If any medications need to be refrigerated double wrap them in plastic and keep them on ice in a small cooler. Fill up your gas tank ahead of time. It doesn't hurt to bring some extra old towels, little trash bags & paper towels either. Living in FL we evacuated for Hurricane Jean – these are some thoughts off the top of my head. Be safe. (((((HUGS)))))

If it was me, I'd have already packed up my machines, fabric, computers, and everything I really wanted, and headed for high ground. Things can be replaced, but it's a royal pain in the butt!! Save what you can!

We live not far from Memphis and seeing what has happened here and in the surrounding areas....DO take care. All this water must go somewhere and it is NASTY! Taking the pics is a great idea, take them of everything...inside and out. Sending good thoughts your way!

I'm sorry for the potential danger you are facing.... but found your response hilarious! ;-) Hoping that the 1927 record remains in tact.

Gosh, when I see your avatar with the picture of you all dressed up and sitting on the front porch, I am transported back to New Orleans. I assume that's your picture and it's a great photo. I am from New Orleans and I swear that I have a similar picture, but usually one with me, my brothers, and baby sister.

I worry about the New Orleans area because of all the suffering my own family experienced with the Katrina episode. I pray that these waters do not cause too much damage, and that you're all kept safe.

    Regards,
