A great juicy burger and the huge bags of fries at Five Guys does it for me. I like that I can get grilled onions and sauteed mushrooms on my burger for no extra $$$!

My quilting friend and I were out shopping...we decided on Red Lobster...we haven't eaten there in a long LONG time...I am so glad we did!!! We're always on a diet, so we ordered things off of the appetizer list...she got shrimp brushetta, I got coconut shrimp, and as an afterthought, I ordered the lobster pizza for us to share...that was the best...it was made on a ultra cracker thin crust...for that, we will be going back soon...   Naomi

    I have a few:

Texas Roadhouse -- love their ribs and steak.
Red Lobster -- only decent seafood close to where I live.
White Castle -- cheap but delicious belly bombers.
La Stalla -- Chandler AZ for the best Italian food in Arizona
Luigini's for the best Italian food on Staten Island, NY (where I originally lived.)

Just the thought makes me HUNGRY !!

It is a destination type resturant. You have to have reservations to be seated. You also place your order when you make resrvation. Your choice of entree's is a 26-30 oz steak or a whole chicken, served /w baked potatoe, hearty soup of the day, fresh baked sweet dinner rolls, salad with either ranch or honey mustard dressing. Choice of coffee, iced tea, lemonade to drink and the desert of the day, usually a shortcake with fruit. Everything but entree', potatoe and desert are served family style. Did I mention No steak sauce or credit cards, cash only? Steak sauce, don't need it and no credit card machine becaue that would require extra electricity and they only use a generator. The place is rustic, the dishes don't match, tables are planks of wood logs cut from large trees and mismatched chairs. Don't be surprised if a server or even the cook comes out has a seat and strikes up a conversation for a few minutes. They provide the doggie bags. Did I mention the food is out of this world and all for around $24 a plate. The experience is worth that.
See what you did now I want to visit Silver Lake sometime this summer.
I would love to visit there sometime---most likely wishful thinking but thanks for the tip.
You can do a search, they have a website. Look for the Cowboy Dinner Tree. They also have cabins for rent during the summer to. While there take the time to visit some of the Oregon Outback while there if you ever make it out. It's really fun to see horses tied up at the hitching post during the summer from people in for dinner.

I like so many places I can't think of a favorite. But I like to check out little individually owned places to see what they are doing.

There are so many choices here in the Houston area..

    Lupe Tortilla for Mexican
    Rudy's for BBQ
    DiMassi's for Mediterranean

Any of those 3 and I'm a happy camper!

My favortite is a local place called the Hubbel House, the steaks are wonderful. I eat alot of chicken and fish at home so I really get hungry for a good steak. Another local place is Papa George's, menu is not large but they have the best Greek lemon soup that my husband likes.
