We're not fans either! Yuck! We've got a growing spider right outside our front door too! It's time to cut the rose bush back, however I want to know exactly where he/she is. I guess I assume it's a girl, because her butt seems to grow every day...which means maybe there'll be many more baby spiders!

LOL Oh so do I. Spiders are outside things for sure. I get them on the broom and take them out because I can't stand the sound of the crunch they make when I squish them and I don't want them any closer to me than the broom handle. LOL..

hate spiders-have stopped a car in the middle of traffic and gotten out until an officer killed the spider. Not kidding.

I have nightmares of spiders.

Awww. Its so sad that people have such painful feelings around harmless spiders.

I don't welcome them indoors either (especially as we do have some poisonous types here, but even then it is not as much of a drama as people think) but in the garden they really do not bother me- they live out there, I live in here....

Its funny how we can look at some creatures and decide they are beautiful and look at others and decide they are creepy. There is nothing inherently creepy about spiders really- it's all in the mind!

Have to give it credit. It does have pretty colors.
Think of those colors in a quilt.

That is what we call a moon spider in Texas. I only kill black widows & brown recuse. Try not to bother them.

Writer spider, I think. Does the web have a thread like area running through that doesn't belong in the normal spider web?

I lived in a very old house (100+ years old) and they put siding on it. Because the wood was old and they covered it, they didn't clear it of all 'vermin as in spiders'. So at night time, you couldn't sit on the porch or you'd feel like little Miss Muffet. I don't like anything that crawls.
