That made me laugh out loud. I know what you mean though.

I belong to the Ladies Guild at church and I mentioned the phrase "the 70' year old ladies at church" with a friend of mine, and she interjected..... AND you are HOW OLD !

I then said to her I had better change that phrase to the 80 year olds because I only have 2 more years to go.

But, it isn't the age that counts....it is the attitude, and I seem to be stuck at 40 even though the body doesn't agree with me. Love to quilt.. Have a good day

While visiting my grandmother, she had a beautiful star quilt on the bed I was using. It was hand-made so I knew she didn't make it, asked where it came from, she said, "a little old lady across the street made it." My grandmother was 87 at the time, so I wondered what her idea of "little old lady" was. I didn't ask because she was once given a "senior discount" and was very insulted. How dare they think she was a senior.

About 4 years ago I was in a meeting where one of the attendees had the same name of someone I had worked with in the early 80s. I wondered if he was my former co-worker's father (since they looked a like - he looked like a much older version of my former co-worker and had the same name). I kept staring at the guy, he probably thought I was crazy. I thought he is too old to be my former co-worker, he has to be his father. After the meeting I met up with him in the hallway and asked him a few telling questions. Damn!!! He was my co-worker, but he was old looking and then I thought do I look as old as he does?

LOL, that was a GOOD one!

Do any of you avoid looking in the mirror because you have NO IDEA who that old woman is, staring back at you? I hate looking into mirrors! Surely that CAN'T be me?!?!

    You are so funny!! LOL

I made the mistake of asking my father if I looked as old as their neighbor I had not seen in years... who was a year older than I am. He didn't' answer. :/
