I do know that sewing tools are available with modifications to accommodate a blind person (but you probably already have them).

Welcome Regina, I have found that Joanns has had flannel in colors and attractive prints on sale for as little as $2.50 a yard. I purchase as much of it as I can afford when that happens. I make about 20 Linus quilts a month and like to back them with flannel. While purchasing clothing at thrift stores to use for fabric works it is a lot of extra work. If you can get the fabric that cheap at Joanns or Walmart you get a whole lot more bang for your buck with less work.
