    Default Stunning Quilts

We have so many members ask about patterns for a quilt that is stunning in its appearance and then usually there is another qualifier such as quick or no curves or no 60 degree triangles or something else or not modern or not traditional. Would those of you who have made many quilts post the picture of the one most stunning quilt you've made with a description of how long it took to sew, how difficult it was to make, etc. I think a category of our best, stunning quilts would be quite helpful and certainly educational, and , oh my goodness, so entertaining! So ladies, will you post? Remember stunning, not easy or quick is the benchmark. If you do I'm sure this will get moved to somewhere else, but we can hunt for it.

Ok, lets see how this works! My quilt for my son and dil's wedding.

Since these was my first double wedding ring it too about 2 months start to binding. I used the Eleanor Burns method and won't do it again. I'll piece the next one the traditional way.

This is not a quilt for the beginner. I consider myself an intermediate quilter. Some of these curves can be tricky to get just right, at least for me!

My avatar is my 'best' quilt to date. That said, it's only my second appliqué project and my fourth quilt, lol. It may not be 'stunning' by other people's standards, but I loved very minute of it.

My avatar is also the best quilt I've made, though that list is on the short side of only 5 (and only 2 bed-sized). I made the pattern up myself, and start to finish I think it took me about 50 hours (not counting the fabric selection and coordination, which took another 5 hours, probably). I wrote the pattern in this thread, and though it's tedious it's pretty straight-forward:

For a picture of it "standing up", here it is on display at one of my craft shows this year (it's a camera phone, so the colors are not as vibrant or saturated as in real life).

Bargello quilts get my vote. They can be really stunning.

it is so hard to chose. I never thought i made stunning quilts so i have to look at them with a different eye. Here is what I came up with.

I wanted to chose one that is unusual and a bit of a challenge. I had to go with my favorite too.i have to edit the pic into the post cause of who knows what! here goes.

I am still working on figuring out how to quilt this one. It is one of my favorite patterns.

Any quilting suggestions and ideas would be greatly accepted!

Very easy yet has a complicated appearance. It is all cut from one pieced block. The pattern is called Casa Maya. And I love it. My next one will be in poppy colors!

My floral log cabin. Fast and easy to strip piece. I believe the color and layouts of log cabins can make them a wow.

Not sure about stunning but I love this quilt because it is the first one I ever made that my son actually liked. He even asked for this one. Yoohoo!!!! It is a OBW that I added applique to.
