I can't stop. I believe I am addicted. I love to look at it, touch it, own it, organize it, collect it, and yes.....quilt with it! When I retire, I will still be able to quilt till my heart's content!!!

E-gads, to stop or not to stop, I cannot fathom. It is a disease from which there is no cure, NOR DO I WANT ONE.

know what you mean. I used to collect cookbooks and it got out of hand so now I have cases of them stored in the basement. It taught me though. I will not buy anymore fabric until i make stash quilts using up what i have. (not much anyway lol) Actually it has been fun figureing up quilt ideas just using what i have. 1st one was a disappearing 9 patch
Think next one will be strips sewed together and then cut into blocks, and then alternate the way the strips run when i put them together. You'll have to let us know what you come up with

Well.... I haven't bought any fabric so far this year. Ta Da! What is today, the 15th? That's gotta be some kind of record for me. My secret? I have the flu and pneumonia. That's apparently what it takes for me not to buy fabric. LOL

Yes, delete all quilting ads before opening them. Unsubscribe to them. I spent a good 2 hours unsubscribing to all the different quilt shops and online stores 2 nights ago. Now I have hardly any email. More manageable. When I get one, I try like heck to just delete it. Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't. Never shop online early in the morning or late at night.

Never ask what fabric line a quilt someone made and is showing us is from. That gets me every time. I have to have that fabric. I quit going to pictures altogether. I have to protect myself. I have enough...more than enough...but when I see something new and exciting there is no stopping me. So I am trying to stay off online stores. I've been going to forums and blogs. And there is a place called 'Storylane' where you can write any story you want. It must be a true life story. I find that so helpful. I think I buy because of things in my past. Kind of like an alcoholic drinks because of pain from his past (ask me how I know), I buy to make me feel good. Now I go in my sewing room and go through my fabric. I enjoy that much more. I find things that I totally forgot about. I end up spending 2 hours digging around in there. I try to stay off online stores altogether. I also like to shop for other things. I am a shopaholic. But I know it. And I'm working on it. I do allow myself some things. I get permission before I buy now. Then I don't get the guilt. I think I have shared more than anyone wants to know. Oh well. Just felt like it. Most people don't read clear to page 3, so probably only one or two people have read this.

Ask the management to post your photo at the till and to refuse you service...kind of like they do at casinos...

LOL! I almost made it 14 days. But the fabric I bought is to finish 3 quilt tops so there was a real purpose. I'm doing several BOMs that will delve into my stash and also the Mystery Train in scrappy. Really, really trying to not buy this year

Buying fabric is therapy. Went to Joanne's yesterday and spent $18.43, but saved $92.00. It was such a high. (This was not all fabric of course). Such fun. I guess we could be considered hoarders with all our fabrics. Be strong.

If you figure it out, let me know what kind of *blinders* you use....LOL I agree, organizing fabrics helps me to realize that I have alot to work with. When starting a new project I usually try to start with my stash, take swatches to fabric shops and match up with new fabrics. This at least helps use my stash. Setting a fabric budget would never work with me. My family is raised, I sew and sell goodies for play money and figure I deserve this crazy quilting habit ! LOL
