Homemade solution for folding fabric?
#1
I have seen recipes for homemade starch and many other things. Is there a recipe for the fabric folding solution you put on with a pen?
If not are there sugggestions for getting the fabric to relax so it can be folded over easier?

Are you asking about folding under fabric for appliqué? Some people use a thicker starch mixture that they put along the edge with a paint brush and then iron down. Some people cut the shapes from freezer paper and if you put the shiny side up on on the appliqué back, you can stick the fold under to the shiny freezer paper. In this method you do have to remove the freezer paper before the shape is completely stitched down or cut a slit behind the appliqué to remove the paper.
Or are you asking about something else?

I have a package of this I won but have never used it. It may be expired, if it does expire.

On youtube quilting, many use water pens filled with wrinkle releaser to relax seams and Terial Magic in the pen to get a crisp fold. One tip: Don't buy water pens with brush made for children use, use one with the hard foam end. I like the Carolina Moore water pen. Most quilt shops have that brand. There are some on Amazon that are like Sharpie pens. I think art stores have them.

I've never used one of these, but have seen a new Lori Holt water brush in emails from 2 different shops today. There was no info, no explanation, but this must be what they are for. On sale, today only, at Quilt in a Day. https://quiltinaday.com/products/lor...eid=da0ef60a61
