What seems like ages ago I saw a small iron like the Clover iron above, only it had an adjustable heat setting not just 3 settings and that is that! Unfortunately I don't remember the brand. It was nice but I was on a tight budget at the time and couldn't justify something I wouldn't use that much.

I use a sleeve pressing ?ham? with my Black & Decker and that really works as I can get at small areas with the ham.

I have the travel size Rowenta. After about a year (maybe less) the cord is breaking where it attaches to the iron. So far it's still working and the wires are not bare but I have to keep an eye on it. I'm not impressed for the price I paid.

OK, I have both of the irons pictured above, I love them both. I use the Clover for pressing in tight pieces ie, pointy dresden plate blocks, it gets into the tight, close places without having to risk pressing what I don't want pressed. I use the other next to my machine, it is light and doesn't take up a lot of space. Must say that the Clover is the new better one, they changed the switch. As with any iron, you must be careful with where you place it when it is on.

I used the tutorial at oh fransson but it's a pretty straightforward project. I made mine so that the cover comes off for washing.

Just fyi for everyone, i purchased a silicone pad made out of the same stuff some baking sheets are made out of. I love it! I hated reaching for the iron as it stood on end while not being used. I got burned often and would use a trivet. This pad is the shape of an iron and can be trimmed for smaller irons but is the best thing i've ever come across to set my iron on! Got mine at walmart!

I have the small Rowenta and like it very much; however, it does not have an auto shut off and in my senile state sometimes forget to shut it off!!!!
