10" of snow topped with a thin coating of ice on the farm here in central VA. A bit worse in areas around me as where I live has a unique environment up against the mountains; we *always" do not fit the prediction patterns.
But this evening was a gorgeous sunset.

In Atlanta, we're done with it, most of it's melted and the roads are back to being fine....but it was a long 3-4 days. Good Luck to all of you just starting with it. We're used to the ice down here but if you aren't, stay indoors. You cannot walk on it or drive on it! Our ER's were filling up with broken legs, sprained ankles and the like from falls. It's just not worth it!!!! Be safe!

I am in SC also. Sumter county was hit pretty hard and I have been without power for 4 days and have been told it may be 2 more days before the service is restored in my area. I am fortunate to have a sister/friend who has opened her home to me. I spent the first night in my home but decided the cold temps were enough for me to leave. However, we are actually better off than lots of others.

We've had snow, then ice, then rain, snow/ice mix last night. The next couple of days will still be cold but by next week we're supposed to have weather in the 50s. Once we get through February our weather is usually in the upper 40s-lower 50s. Can't wait!!!

My nephew lives in Charlottesville and he posted pictures on Facebook of about 13" of snow. The crazy fool was out there shoveling in shorts, jacket, and no hat.

In Western Massachusetts, we did have 17 inches of snow on the ground - with layers of ice mixed in - from this week. And now it is snowing again, and we are expecting 4 inches in my area and 14 inches just 20 miles away. My husband asked me if I wasn't stir crazy staying inside and I said "Nope!" It's safer and easier to be inside. And I might get some sewing done!

We have not had it too bad here in the deep south, but I am still ready for SPRING.
