Good Morning, I think the green would look nice as sashings. Have a good day!

QuiltE....your setup is great....on the original question....if you were in the mood...sash but thin, three strip with 9 patch in corners...say colors would be gold,black,gold....oh yes, on point, with background triangles on edges of maybe dark green...

Thanks GeriB ... nice idea on the tri-strip sashing and 9Ps! I have another quilt that it just might be the answer!

I agree with QuiltnNan about using a black or dark green sashing, but audition to see which you prefer. I think the blocks are wonderful.

totally agree with the sashing comments. your eyes need to rest between the blocks. One suggestion would be to try several different layouts of the blocks. If possible, spread out the heavily red blocks with the 'calmer' blocks. If you use either thin black or green sashing, maybe audition a thin red or gold border to balance the colors. Your blocks make me want to go thru my stash and look at some of my tropical prints in a whole different way!

Beautiful floral ... busy. I would sash around each side of the block, either in white or light pink to match the pattern and a sashing post of black on each corner. You want to draw the eye of the viewer to the print, not away from it. Use fabric of same texture or close to it for the white/light pink sashing and black sashing posts. I would stay away from shiny fabric for sashing/posts. For the backing I would not use white but a light color, possibly pink - something pleasing to the eye.

I think that a 1/2" of black around each block (frames each block) then dark green sashing with red cornerstones. Here is my version of the 4 patch posey. One of my favorites.

Here's one designed for my DGD, fabric purchased, one of the next ones to be done. It's bright, too!!! The first pic is the original fabric.

LOVE the blocks!! They are stunning. I think that black will work better than a green. See if you have any in these colors, trying it out and taking a photo. See what pleases your taste the best.

Bridget says both; I would use the black. As for if it's too wild for a quilt....NEVER! It would be wonderfully bold. LOL

Love that fabric - definitely not too bright for a quilt. A dark sashing would be lovely and highlight the orange flowers.
