    1/15th HP is pretty standard for that age machine. The machine in your NeedleBar link was my machine (sold it a few years ago). Really nice machine that would sew through most anything (ie 8 layers of denim).

    I like it! I'd buy one if it was convenient, or course that doesn't leave out many.
    It seems like it's a little close coupled, i.e., the distance between the needle and the pillar seems kind of 3/4 size-ish? Are they heavy weight cast iron?

    I thought the same about the distance, but the base fits in a full size cabinet, I think its an optical allusion with how bulky the design is...

    It is very heavy. I'd say an easy 30-40lbs.

    Well isn't it a small world! Thanks for posting that back whenever you did!

    And good to hear, its going to take a little chunk of change to get it back to operational I have a feeling, but that makes it seem worth the effort!
