[QUOTE=SheriR;6926492]Honchey, I'd love to see your system. It may help my craziness!)
Hi Sheri, here are a couple of photos of what I do with a 10" piece of fabric...hardly any waste..
1. 10" piece of fabric, starched, pressed & folded ready to be trimmed on right side.
2. strips cut into 1.5", 2", 2.5" & 3 3/8" for a bunch of blocks I'm making & put in baskets I found at Dollar Tree.
Strips will be cross cut as needed for the swaps..
3. the 1/2"-1.5" left over piece of fabric after cutting all the strips will be wrapped around 1/4" rope to make coasters.
4. blocks made so far with the 3 3/8" strip..

I finishing packaging my sets this morning so they will get to the Post Office on Monday or Tuesday. I'm finally not mailing them at the last second! For those of you who wondered how to cut them--I get mine cut fairly quickly when I am working on them. It is easiest if you can do a 2 1/2" strip the wof. I cut one strip-- then I use the June Taylor "Shape Cut Plus" Ruler to cut the 2 1/2" segments. It goes very quickly. I bought the ruler for 50% off at
JoAnn's .com. There is also a "Shape Cut" that is a bit smaller. But those rulers are "God's gift to Quilters" as far as I am concerned. They are worth every penny I spent on them.
