I have been wanting to do one of these for my husband and my daughter. They are both carpenters. How big is this block and do you mind telling where you found the pattern?

It is sold individually ( carpenter star ) but also in a book with many different sizes. Book is called Simple Stars beautiful quilts by debbie maddy.
    www.calicocarriage.com carries it.
The quilt is made in rows not blocks but the carpentar star is 70 x 70 . There is a bigger one with two rings of stars as well.

Janice that is really pretty. Do you mind sharing where you got the pattern? I would love to do something like this in Blues for my king size bed, but haven't been able to find a "center" that i've liked. I have been wanting to do the Giant Dahlia, but the templates are a little on the pricey side, and for now, i have to work with what I got. But would love to know the name of the pattern or where you got it from.

    thanks!

Super job! I wondered how this pattern would look in those colors and they all went together just beautifully.
