My book arrived this morning and can't wait to get started. I've been wanting to do a full quilt for some time but just felt a bit overwhelmed. Most of the quilts are all so "coordinated" as far as fabrics and colours, so this one is about perfect to start with. Thanks so much for the welcomes and for the book info. I'd never have found it on my own.

This is probably a late comment but if anyone is wanting to join but worried about not getting the book in time, try your local major book retail store. I got mine at Books a Million.

Is everyone working on the same block at the same time, or just doing any block in the book? If we're all working on the same one, which one are we on at the moment and how long do we have to do it? Sorry if this has been asked before, but we're now up to 343 messages in this thread and maybe I missed it!

Edited: Oops...I just re-read the first message. It says we're doing them alphabetically, two per week. For late starters (in every sense of the word), do we have to start at the beginning or just jump in where everyone else is working at the moment?

Hi Jane, The blocks are being done at two a week alphabetically..I'll be posting a new thread for each set on Tuesdays..some of you might not have them done. but you still post the photos in the appropriate week's thread..

You can start in the current week and catch up whenever the spirit moves you no pressure..just sew as you go ..

Jane, we haven't officially started yet, so you're right on time. August 4th begins Week 1 and our first two blocks.

I'm still waiting for my book, but have all my fabric so I'll be ready to go. I'm really looking forward to this. This year I'm going to be working on this quilt as well as Loyal Union Sampler. I need a break from larger things, and this will be perfect. Tons and tons of little squares.

Well I received my fabric in the mail today so am ready to wash, iron, press and go! BUT I have to admit I am a little underwhelmed by the prints. I didn't have any 1930's fabric and I do want to make it authentic so I am hoping once I open them up and look at them better, I will get a little more excited about them haha. Never the less, I am excited about getting started!
