Do your units have a little corner peeking out on the diagonal? Are you trimming this off?

Mine do and I was not sure if I should trim or not, so I am leaving them for now. I am using the Easy Angle to make them.

Belfrybat, what is the size of your brown rectangle in your shaded 4 patch? I'm with you. I think that surely there's a big triangle to go on these in clues to come, in which case leaving the 4 patch together until that clue makes sense. OR, it could be something else!!

I saw a layout on FB where they took the 9 patch and 4 of the triangles and made a friendship star layout.

Belfrybat your colors are so pretty! I like your idea too. Joe's mom yes there are little points on the diagonal but I won't worry about them, they will get sewn in the seam.
