The brothread is not labeled as trilobal but SimThread is. Another review...somewhere....said they liked it better than the brothread so I'm giving it a try. Will also look at the Metroemb.com site. Thank you for the suggestion!

I haven't tried their thread yet. I recently ordered some of the brothread Stabilizers on Amazon. Items are a bit cheaper there verses their actual website but not much difference. So far I've found quality at stitch out as good as other well known Stabilizer brands too.

I have an opinion on the SimThread -- I hated it. As advertised it is Trilobal which you can clearly see everytime it breaks - which was OFTEN for me. I couldnt complete a single pass without either the top or bobbin needed tending. Absolutely sucked.
So...this is just one person's opinion. Results may vary. Buyer beware and caveat emptor......but I will not buy it again.

I haven't tried this Brothread thread but as for embroidery thread used on quilting machines, I've tried both Fufu (now known as Floriani) and BFC from BFCreations, both are the trilobal 40wt. I've had no trouble with either one including the metallic from BFCreations. I've got so much of each of these brands, it will be quite awhile before I'll have to search for a new thread for quilting. Plus I have lots of quilting thread from Connectiong Threads, both their cotton and polyesters. None seem to give me troubles on my quilting machine, an Innova.

Poly thread is either spun, filament, or trilobal. Spun is the weaker of the two and used for serger thread as three or more cones are used at one time.
Explanation of poly thread:https://www.superiorthreads.com/educ...lyester-thread
We don't recommend spun polyester for quilting, as it is not as strong as corespun, filament, or trilobal polyester threads.
