Carol in WI, maybe consider just using an extra wide turquoise binding instead of a narrow border? Might serve the same purpose. I know I make bindings wider on average than usual, I figure it is my last chance to add fabric to the top.
Joe's Mom -- I love your fabrics! I know you were worried about some of them but it makes such a happy country? flower garden. And no points other than the tiny geese. Awesome!

Thank you, ladies, for the encouraging comments! I am taking the day off from Old Town to construct a quilt back, then tomorrow I can start constructing my corner units. I'm excited to see how things go together!
Carol in WI, that looks lovely!

Still plodding along. Basically am just slightly after my last progress report. All the blocks are made, all the sashing has been put on. I put blocks together in 2's, still have to press some before adding the next set.
Once I have one long column done, I will be able to double check my 4-patches, that I have enough and that they will march around the edges correctly. I'd like to get that done today, but it is my hubby date day and there will be bowling and maybe costco involved.

Carol in WI - your quilt looks perfect to me. I really like the teal final border.
Iceblossom -- Great going. Those 4 patches were a challenge for me to put on correctly. I unpicked quite a bit and then still ended up with one side being too long. Just too many seams for them to ease in well.

Oh what fun, I just sewed the last big seam for the center of the quilt, or what I call the bed. Still have to construct the border but those 4-patches are done and the other squares cut. I am going to connect the inner 4-patches with the outer red/neutrals and just put on the one unit instead of going around the quilt multiple times. Is easy with the corner units the way they are.
I still haven't double checked my extra row and if it will cause any problems with the borders, I've got to believe not but will do the top first and then the long side.
I was going to use one of the neutral fabrics already used in the top, but in my quest to not have fabrics touching, I went back and looked at my unused whites and neutrals... the whites were BRIGHT next to the cream. I did pick out the creamiest of the bright whites to use for the inner border and that is cut.

Hubby's out of bed so I ran in real quick and took a picture. Overall, I am pretty happy. I still just don't like the tiny goose units and am unlikely to change my mind, but that's one of the ways we know it is Bonnie's design with a few of my tweaks.

There are gorgeous, beautifully done quilt tops here! @Iceblossom & @Carol in WI.
I love Bonnie's patterns. I do. Really. I've thought a couple of times, o, a mystery, what fun. Bought fabric then did nothing. I've printed out mystery instructions to use later several times.
I've made several of her patterns, have two of her books. More patterns in process. (I'm a scattershot quilter, my WIPs list is over 100 long.)
I totally get that she's a quilting teacher, wanting to provide lessons to build skills. That is a valuable and important thing.
Looking at Old Town after the reveal. Well. eight 1-1/2" HST when you can just as easily make four 2" QST, and save fabric.
Tweaking. I've made my first block. No pic taken as yet. Started on a couple of sashes, but realized my neutral variety is lacking.
