I usually make large twin/small queen sized projects for donations and "pieces big enough for backs" has always been an issue. I have fun piecing backs but not everybody appreciates. Most of my stash at this point are pieces 3 yards or less, I do still have a few larger pieces but not many.
All of my tops waiting to be quilted down have their backs, bindings, and typically an idea of how to quilt -- and that's the really hard part for me. I did buy a number (8??) large scale extra wide backs and will use them for color suggestions for the top. However we are inspired, I will take it!
So I know I have at least one good one for a civil war type project. Another for a black/multi-color, another white/multi that I think I know the top I want (a sampler with bright batiks on white that I haven't made yet)... I should go look and see if anything perks me up and begs to be used.

It is the end of the month and I did my best to deplete my stash, mostly by giving away fabric from free tables at two different groups and finishing 3 quilts. Drum roll please.........45.2 yards OUT the door and only 5 yards IN. The 5 yards IN were for a baby quilt, a piece to finish my AQS Guild Challenge quilt and a little piece for a border for a UFO and a backing from a free table.. So most of those 5 yards will be in and out all in the month of April. I have plenty of fabric but I have to say that the yardage OUT doesn't even show in my storage area. How can that be?
On to next month with a plan to make the baby quilt and to finish two UFOs and maybe work on a third. I am not expecting to hit the big numbers again in April but I will try. Motto for this year: If I don't like it, don't want to sew with it, give it away to someone who will love it.
