Last Friday I took a quilt class and I've been slowly finishing these flying geese blocks. Today I have 8 hrs of work and a trip to pack for, but with a bit of luck I'll be able to find a bit of time for the last 4 blocks. Then I will play with layout when I get back. I haven't done a top that was made by only me in a decade so this is kind of exciting!

Woke up before my alarm this morning. Had about an hour to work on my current hand-pieced/slow-stich WIP. I'm calling it a Triple 4-patch. I have 30 of the 48 8" blocks finished. Making it 6 blocks wide and 8 blocks long. Can hardly wait until they're all finished so I can "audition" the lay-out. Still undecided if I will add a border/borders. It will depend on how the top looks once the blocks are all joined together. It's intended to be a car quilt/cuddle quilt size for my oldest nephew and his family.

still working scrappy
Using the heart clover yo-yo maker because heart yo-yos are hard
Pocket Hug with a Lucky Penny inside. I keep a handful in my pocket and give them when I'm out and about. Fun to do when we are watching movies, uses 5" squares.

I'm still working away at "other" stuff. Even got some yard stuff done!
My 82 year old quilting friend did come over on Monday and we got the first part of setting up my long arm frame done -- attaching the legs and the hydraulics. Most of it was pretty smooth but a couple of the bolts were not happy going in. It is ready to be turned from its side to its feet, but it is way too heavy for the two of us. Too heavy for the hubby and me. Good thing we have a gym going neighbor we can grab for a couple of minutes.
I don't have assembly instructions or diagrams, what I have is a series of really good videos on DVD. As I was looking ahead, I saw them attaching optional caster wheels that I don't have but would be nice to be able to move the setup a bit here and there as needed. When the hydraulic legs are all the way short, the caster wheels will touch ground.
So today what I did was order a set of these!
