Designing and picking out fabrics! I love the quilting part too. The in-between parts (assembling the blocks, sandwiching) are not my favorite parts.

My favorite part is giving a newly finish quilt as a gift. I do like all the different parts of making a quilt but that is my favorite part.

I like piecing the top once I decide on a pattern. But if I have fabric I REALLY love, I can dither forever in choosing just the PERFECT pattern.....which doesn't exist, of course. Once I'm committed, I'm fine; it's having too many choices before I begin that tends to undo me! I blame this indecision on mild OCD and just try to put up with it.

When I first began quilting I loved the cutting. It was so different from cutting out clothing patterns and the preciseness of the ruler and rotary cutter appealed, again, to my OCD, I think, and I loved the process. Now, I'm less patient with the cutting and just want to get it done so I can put all the pieces together!

I love the sewing of the blocks, putting all the pieces together. I don't even mind the 'unsewing' part, it's just part of the whole quilt top.

Acquiring the fabric first and putting on the label last.

I do love the piecing part but don't like quilting at all. I quilt by CHECK, meaning I write a check to my quilter. HA HA
Love that part , too. And I really do love putting on the binding and hand sewing it, then it is finished.
